Founded in 2023, Sure Anchor Counseling was established with the desire to love and serve people in the community. Our counselors are honored to walk with clients to identify problems, explore their root cause, and move towards healing and wholeness, all through the lens of the Gospel. It is our goal to help clients experience the power of Christ in their lives.

The Mission of Sure Anchor is to help bring Physical, Emotional, Relational, and Spiritual wholeness to people in our community through clinically sound Counseling rooted in Biblical Truth.

OUR STAFF

Joe Kim, MA, LCPC – Director

Joe is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and serves as the Director of Sure Anchor Christian Counseling. Joe was born and raised in the Baltimore area, and in his over 11 years of experience in the mental health field, has worked in various settings, providing counseling for individuals, groups, and families, and working with clients of all ages. Joe has helped clients struggling with behavioral and mood disorders, relational issues, severe mental illness, and drug addiction.

Joe also serves as an Associate Pastor of Church of the Harbor in Essex, Maryland, and has spent years serving in ministry, with roles including worship leader, student ministry leader, and pastoral counselor. With knowledge and experience both in Mental Health Counseling as well as Bible Teaching, Joe is passionate about walking alongside people who are facing struggles and guiding them toward the Hope and Healing found in Jesus.

Education and Qualifications
-BS in Psychology, University of Maryland: Baltimore County
-MA in Counseling Psychology, Towson University
-Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
-Currently in pursuit of EMDR Certification
